Mrs Andrews Room

Mrs Andrews Room

The room is named after Mrs Frances Andrews who’s family owned Ballingdon Estate in the 1700’s. Although there is very little information about this period of Ballingdon’s history we do know a wonderful portrait exists of Frances and her Husband, Robert Andrews, painted by Robert’s childhood friend, Thomas Gainsborough. The picture is on display at the National Gallery in London.

Mrs Andrews is a light and bright room which has been decorated in shades of blue reminiscent of the dress Mrs Andrews wore in the portrait by Gainsborough. The room overlooks the lawns to the back of the house which is perfect for watching the wildlife especially at dawn and dusk.

The room is complete with an en-suite bathroom.
