There is good evidence that Masculinity (this includes Patriarchal ideas, and gendered attitudes and behaviours) results in health inequality in men. These studies have resulted in Public Health England’s 2020 – 2025 strategy identifying four principal behavioural risks as being smoking, poor diet, physical inactivity and alcohol consumption. We also know that the highest risk of suicide is in men under the age of 40, from under-diagnosed and under-supported mental health issues in this population. Generally, men are more likely to develop life-threatening conditions such as coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, emphysema, cirrhosis of the liver, emphysema kidney disease, atherosclerosis and cancer.

Men’s Health and Well-being does not refer merely to the absence of disease or infirmity, but to a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing experienced by men.

With our knowledge and expertise in this field of medicine, health, nutrition and wellness, we have Launched a Men’s Wellness Retreat that seeks to address these issues and positively support men in their Health and Wellbeing.
